Nova Scotia recruit felt at home with Varsity Blues

Fall River offensive lineman becomes first recruit to join OUA team’s 2015 class.

Duncan Robertson will begin his CIS career in one of Canada’s major cities.

Last week, the 6’2, 285 pound offensive lineman (guard) from Fall River, Nova Scotia committed to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. Β Robertson will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

Ultimately, the strengths of both academic and football programs as well as the environment were the decisive factors that sold Robertson pursuing his CIS career in Toronto.

β€œA big factor in why I chose to commit to the University of Toronto was the excellent academic programs that the university offered,” explained Robertson of his decision.Β  β€œI also really like the coaches and felt like I was at home when I stepped onto the campus.”

β€œThe atmosphere at the University of Toronto is amazing and the coaches also emphasized academics and have several programs to ensure that I will succeed both as a student and a football player. The University of Toronto also added a new athletic facility that has state of the art equipment that will help me get as much as I can out of my workouts.”

Recently, the offensive lineman completed his high school career with St. Andrew’s College Saints of the Conference Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA). Prior to the Saints, Robertson suited up for the Lockview Dragons of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).
