Nova Scotia firepower

Team Nova Scotia’s under-18 squad sent a message on the field yesterday to other teams preparing for the 2013 Football Canada Cup.

The team is already showing signs they are ready for battle on the national stage next month in Moncton, New Brunswick.  Team Nova Scotia crushed Team New Brunswick 47-0 in the second of two exhibition games between the two squads at Canada Games Centre. Team Nova Scotia won the previous exhibition game in Halifax on June 9th, 2013; therefore, are 2-0 against Team New Brunswick.

Both defensive lineman Shaun Robinson (CFC TOP 100) and kicker Greg Hutchins proved to be unstoppable as it ultimately provided a long afternoon for Team New Brunswick.  Robinson contributed to the victory with three sacks while Hutchins was successful on three field goal attempts and seven conversions.

Team Nova Scotia got touchdown scores from receiver Jared Melnyk (35 yard), running back Nick Green (18 yard), Jonathon Hachey (1 yard) and quarterback Justin Bower (3 yard).

In the coming days, both teams will prepare for the Football Canada Cup, which will take place from July 15th-July 21st at Rocky Stone Field in Moncton.
