The Detroit Lions have claimed a Kingston, Ontario player after being released from the Kansas City Chiefs a day earlier.
Cory Greenwood was claimed off of waivers by the Lions. Yesterday, he was one of four players let go by the Chiefs. The 6’2, 235 pound special team/defensive player spent three seasons with the team. In 48 games with the Chiefs, Greenwood registered 34 tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams while on the defensive side of the ball, he racked up eight tackles – including seven solo tackles.
The Canadian player signed with the Chiefs as a free agent in 2010. Previous to the Chiefs, Greenwood suited up for CIS squad, the Concordia Stingers and his high school team, the Regiopolis-Notre Dame Panthers of the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association (KASSAA).
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
