Marshall is scheduled to fly to Miami and take a physical and, if he passes, will sign what is expected to be one of the most lucrative deals for a receiver in NFL history.

At 26 years old, Marshall is one of the best receivers in the league, with a a lot of room for further development. He instantly becomes the best wideout on the Dolphins’ roster and arguably their best offensive player, period.

Last season he caught 101 passes for 1,120 yards and 10 touchdowns, significantly more than any of Miami’s receivers were able to collect. With him on board, the development of second-year starting quarterback Chad Henne is expected to fast track now that he finally has a legitimate No.1 receiver to pass the ball to.

Although it appeared Marshall was most likely headed to the Seattle Seakhawks or possibly the Washington Redskins, at the end of the day it was Miami who was willing to give the most to make the deal work.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
