Newest Carabins

CFC TOP 100 & CEGEP defensive back newest recruit to join RSEQ team’s 2014 class.

An extremely tough decision has finally been made by CFC TOP 100 Tomy Duperron.

The 5’11, 200 pound defensive back from Sherbrooke, Quebec has chosen the Montreal Carabins for the next chapter of his gridiron career.

Ultimately, it came down to one main reason why he chose the RSEQ school.

“The main reason that motivated me to play for the Montreal Carabins was the opportunity to play for Danny Maciocia and Fabrice Raymond,” explained Duperron of his decision.  “It was hard for me to make a decision but in the end it played a big role.”

Additionally, the strength of the football program as well as the chance to reunite with former teammates was too good of an offer to pass up for the Quebec defensive back.

“They have the opportunity to establish themselves as the best team of the RSEQ each year and I think that I can contribute to that early in my CIS career,” said Duperron.  “I will be reunited with my teammates (Johnatan Boissoneault-Glaou and  Landri AKUE).

Duperron comes to the Carabins after guiding CEGEP Division 1 team, Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars to the Bol D’Or Championship this past fall.  During his three year stint there, he has played at the safety, SAM linebacker, halfback and cornerback positions.  Furthermore, he played a significant role on special teams for the Cougars.

The CEGEP defensive standout has been ranked on the past three CFC TOP 100 rankings (March 2013, August 2013 and January 2014).
