NCAA Early Signing Day: No surprise, Luketa finally makes it official with Penn State

CFC100 LB Jesse Luketa (Mercyhurst Prep – Ottawa, ON)
This has been the worst kept secret in football, but you can now call it official as top ranked CFC100 Jesse Luketa finally signed on the dotted line to play for Penn State in the Big 10.

Luketa originally comes from Ottawa where he honed his skills amongst a golden era of talent in the city, then he jetted off to Mercyhurst Prep in Pennsylvania where he absolutely dominated the region at linebacker and as a swiss army knife on offence. Heā€™s earned every accolade imaginable from All-Star nominations to a role with Team Canada, and CFC was able to catch up with him back in May to talk about receiving over 40 NCAA offers and the top spot on the CFC100,

ā€œThe recruitment process has been nothing but a blessing, being blessed with the opportunity to hear from so many prestigious institutions is mind boggling.” He said, “…When I first found out I was going to be apart of the CFC100 I was ecstatic, it’s a great feeling knowing all my hard work had been accounted for and is being displayed.ā€

Luketa will be joining a program whoā€™s experienced a revival both off and on the field over the past few years, and will be hoping to do damage alongside former CFC100 and fellow Ottawa native Jonathan Sutherland at Penn State, as well as Daniel Joseph from Brampton, Ontario whoā€™s already made a significant impact with the Nittany Lions as a sophomore.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
