Mind of McCabe: The battle between soccer and football in Canada

There’s a cold war going on in Canada, and I don’t think many people are aware of the consequences if football comes out on the wrong end. We recently highlighted the fight between FC Edmonton and the Alberta football community over the renovations of Clarke Stadium, and that’s just one proxy story in a long line of battles between the growing soccer community in Canada, and the forever aging football community.

At least that’s how most people perceive the narrative. Generally football fans don’t like soccer, and soccer fans don’t like football, so when the discussion all of a sudden turns into what sport is more important to the community, things get ugly fast.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
