McMaster ‘was always special’

Marauders add a GTA commit to their 2018 class.

Jacob Postill, an offensive lineman from St. Roch Catholic School, is no strange to the McMaster Marauders, and now he will have the chance to become an official member of the team.

“I chose McMaster because of the sense of home and the outstanding resources they have to offer. The most appealing thing about McMaster is family. I have been to McMaster before when I was younger with cousins that attended, and I knew that McMaster was always special,” Postill said.

Now older and more experienced, Postill had the opportunity to preview the Marauder student-athlete experience. “I really enjoyed it,” he said. “The coaching staff at McMaster is outstanding. Ever since I met Head Coach Knox, he was always honest and upfront. He tells you how it is, and I like that.”

Postill added that he has deep respect for Coach Brady, who he said has helped him a lot through his recruitment process. The product of Brampton, Ontario, is looking into sociology.

The towering 6’7, 370lbs lineman has played football for seven years with the Brampton Bulldogs (OVFL) and St. Roch Ravens (ROPSSAA). He has accumulated several accolades over the course of his career. He is a CFC Ontario all-star, and he won a lineman award with the Ravens in 2014 and was a Metro Bowl MVP the same year. He won a OVFL championship in 2012. He is a three-time ROPSSAA champion, a Metro Bowl champion and an OFSAA champion.

With several championships under his belt, Postill will be looking to add some U Sports ones to his list. He said, “I am just really looking forward to starting my U Sports career.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
