The McMaster football team held its annual team awards banquet on January 27 to recognize some individual efforts from what was an outstanding 2010 season.
Hosted by CHCH-TV Sports Director Ken Welch, the affair brought together roughly 200 team members, along with families and friends of Marauder football.
The teamās offensive MVP was third-year quarterback Kyle Quinlan, who was named a second-team OUA All-Star in 2010, while linebacker Ryan Chmielewski and defensive back Byron Metcalfe were co-winners of the defensive MVP award. Linebacker Cory Bye was tabbed as the special teams MVP.
Offensive Coordinator Jon Behie called it a great celebration of the 2010 season. āOur M-C Ken was fantastic and the highlight video that was produced was outstanding and a great way to send off our 5th-year players.ā
Behie says that the awards give the Marauders a standard to aspire to, adding, āThose plaques live in our locker room with the names of the winners, so it shows the history of those who have excelled and I think it means a lot to the players to see those awards every day.ā

demonstrated leadership on and off the field)
