Manitoba high school defensive MVP signs with Mustangs

The Western Mustangs continued to add to their impressive 2011 class with the recent signing of Manitoba high school (AAA) defensive MVP D.J. Lalama from St. Paul’s in Winnipeg.

Linebacker coach and Special teams coordinator of the Mustangs Mickey Donavan was extremely happy with the signing and had this to say about the 2010 Football Canada cup all star.

“We are very excited to have DJ apart of the Mustangs now. Watching his film the thing that stood out to me the most is how he hits the window and he has great athletic ability for a Linebacker. He is going to fit in well with the team and the guys at Western are thrilled to have him here.”

D.J., featured in December by CFC, is excited about the opportunity to play for the Mustangs.

“Western was simply the best fit for me both from a football standpoint and academically. Iā€™m very excited to be apart of the great tradition at UWO, and look forward to my university career as a Mustang. I felt at home with the players and I am ecstatic to play for Coach Marshall, Coach Donovan and the rest of the staff at Western”.
