Linebacker Easton Montour from Sisler High School has a very simple reason for choosing the University of Manitoba Bisons.

ā€œI chose Manitoba because itā€™s home,ā€ Montour said, who is from Winnipeg, Manitoba. ā€œI knew players already on the team. The coaches also showed a lot of interest in me and were introducing me to the defense already.ā€

He added that, ā€œThe University of Manitoba was kinda always my number one option because I had coaches that were there and (they) told me how good the program was. I also watched multiple games and I just like the atmosphere there.ā€

In high school, Montour played with the Sisler Spartans (Winnipeg High School Football League). In his senior year, he was named as the defensive player of the year in the AAA division. He had 70.5 tackles in seven games. In 2015, he won a championship. He also played with the St. James Rods, the Charleswood Broncos and the North Winnipeg Nomads. He represented Team Manitoba on the under-16 and under-18 teams as well.

The 6ā€™0, 215lbs athlete is interested in taking education. He said he wants to become an elementary school teacher because he enjoys working with children.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
