Making “Her-story’: MGFA girls 6-a-side game #1 a huge success

Winnipeg, MB — The Manitoba Girls Football Association (MGFA) played its first game in its inaugural season last night at CanadaInn Stadium. The MGFA is the first all girls tackle football league in Manitoba and the first and only in it’s age group league in Canada.

Big plays, big hits, and big smiles were the high lights of the first ever game between the St. Vital Mustangs and the Charleswood Broncos. The 10-12 year old girls made history, being the first time this female age group has played tackle football in Canada. Final score saw the Mustangs finish on top 24 to 13. Winners = everyone.
