Local talent remains home, 2 join Bisons

Bisons stay local and add two to their 2019 class.

Defensive back Jarrett Alcaraz and athlete Elijah Rivera from Garden City Collegiate will be continuing on as teammates as they journey to the next level after joining the University of Manitoba Bisons.

Jarrett Alcaraz

While with the Garden City Fighting Gophers (WHSFL), Jarrett Alcaraz suited up as a quarterback. In 2017, he had 99 attempts and 31 completions for 368 yards and three touchdowns, averaging a 31.3 percent completion rate.

Mike Still from the Manitoba Football Feed described Alcaraz as a β€œmulti-purpose pivot who is a threat to run or throw the ball.” Alcaraz, who has also played as a defensive back, is 5’10 and calls Winnipeg, Manitoba his home.

Elijah Rivera

Alcaraz will be joined by fellow Fighting Gopher, Elijah Rivera, who Still said β€œis a tremendous athlete coming out of the backfield.” Rivera is 5’10, 157lbs and is from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
