Dasiuk issued the following statement regarding his commitment to the Dinos:

“From the initial stages of the recruiting process the University of Calgary seemed so genuine and intrigued in me not only as an athlete but as a student as well.”

“Academically, the University of Calgary is at a very high level and the competition in all faculties is very strong. Therefore for my future I know that whatever career I choose to go into I will have a great foundation as a stepping stone.”

“On the field, the Dinos in previous years have been very successful. By joining the team, I hope to learn about their successful ways and also contribute to the future of the football program.”

“The resources in which the University of Calgary have set in place overall were the most appealing. They are truly invested in me and in helping me be as successful as possible.”

“Staying at home in Calgary is also very convenient in that I do not have to leave my family behind. I can maintain a strong connection with them.”

“Also, meeting with Head Coach Wayne Harris (who was only the interim head coach as the time) solidified my decision due to the way in which he spoke about the program. And I was very happy to hear that he was selected to be the official Head Coach because I believe he will continue to lead the team in a positive direction.”
