Local recruit commits to Queen’s

Richmond receiver joins OUA team’s 2016 class

Queen’s Gaels have announced the addition of Jack Rabb to their football program.

Rabb, the 6’5, 200 pound receiver from Richmond, Ontario will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

During his career, Rabb has suited up for both the Bell Warriors and Bel-Air Norsemen of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

“Jack is an outstanding athlete and a product Β of the NCAFA minor football system in Ottawa,” commented Gaels Head Coach Pat Sheahan. Β “He stands 6’5 and weighs 200 pounds. Β “He has played receiver and quarterback during his years with the Bell Warriors and he has also punted for the blue and gold.”

“He is a 92 percent student with a bright future at Queen’s.”

For his part, all it took was an official visit to the Kingston, Ontario campus to realize his CIS destiny was with the Gaels.

“Deciding whether attending Queen’s and playing for the Gaels was right for me was a very simple process,” explained Rabb. Β “Over the time I spent in Kingston touring the school and talking to the coaches, it was made very clear to me that there is a strong emphasis on academics.”

“They stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between being a student and being an athlete. The coaches themselves were very welcoming and immediately put me at ease. Additional factors that swayed me were the access to top-tier facilities and the privilege of living in Kingston. I greatly look forward to beginning my time with the Gaels.”
