LB/FB McBride used football to ‘fill void’ at home

LB/FB Darien McBride first got into to football as a way of channelling all the “aggression” that he had built up as a result of coming from “a little bit of a rough upbringing at home.”

“I looked to coaches and players to fill a lot of empty spaces in my life at the time,” he said. “Due to that fact I now view football as a whole as one big family, no matter who it is in the program, a family member, player or coach, I feel we all have a connection through the work and dedication that goes into every aspect. That’s what it’s all about to me.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
