LB captain fell in love with Gaiter’s family

Bishop’s welcomes out-of-province commit to their Class of 2017.

When Liam Patton, a linebacker from Bill Crothers Secondary School, saw Bishop’s University, there was one particular thing that won him over.

“I committed because I loved the family atmosphere as well as the small class sizes,” he said. “But, more importantly, (it was) the opportunity to study at the Williams School of Business.”

Standing at 6’4, 205lbs and hailing from Richmond Hill, Ontario, in the GTA, Patton was entranced with the Gaiters’ coaches. “The coaching staff is new, exiting and bringing a wining culture to the school,” he said.

In his career, he has lined up with the Markham Raiders (OVFL), the 7v7 Kingdom Force football academy and the Bill Crothers Colts (York Region Athletics Association). He is a GTA all-star, a defensive MVP and a team MVP. In the end, for Patton, the most important is that: “I pride myself on being a team captain both years (playing).”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
