Perrier has spent the last three years playing for the Notre-Dame du CNDF (RSEQ, Division 1) in Québec City. He will now be continuing his residency in the city, having chosen Laval because of the opportunity it provided him to obtain a bachelor in Sports Intervention. He is originally from Repentigny, Québec, which is a community north-east of Montréal.

The 6’1, 220lbs former Rhino de Lanaudière (Québec Minor Football League) was also impressed with the university’s coaches. “It’s probably one of the best coaching staff in the country,” Perrier said.

In this last three years with the Rhinos, he was recognized as the best running back in the league. This year, he was named as an MVP in the Bol D’Or with the Notre-Dame du CNDF.

Thomas Frost grew up in Trois-Rivières, Québec, having played five seasons with the Vert et Or du Séminaire St-Joseph (RSEQ, Juvenile Division 1B). He has since been a member of the Notre-Dame du CNDF for three seasons.

“Since leaving my hometown to play at the division 1 level, Québec (City) has been a fantastic environment for me to be in and I was willing to continue studying in this city. So, I guess my decision to choose Laval came quite naturally for me,” he said.

“Laval has been a prestigious football program for the past 20 years while also having some of the best coaches in the nation. I’m confident that they’ll be able to provide me with some of the best coaching to not only continue developing has a football player, but also has a person,” Frost added.

The 6’3, 210lbs football player will be starting university in January, however his program of choice, Sports Intervention, doesn’t start until September. “So, by then I’ll be doing courses to obtain credits while being able to train and practice with the team throughout the winter,” he said.

In the 2013-2014 season, his last year of high school football, Frost was named as the RSEQ’s Juvénile Division 1b defensive MVP. Most recently, he won a Bol D’Or with the Notre-Dame du CDNF.

While his U Sports journey is just beginning, Frost has taken a moment to reflect on how he has gotten this far. “I’d like to thank everyone who has been a part of my success and made all of this possible,” he said.

David Pelletier will not have far to reach his new team as he already calls Québec City his home. “As a guy from Québec, I grew up watching playing the Rouge et Or and I was very impressed by the football program and its story,” he said.

Not only did the chance to play for his hometown team appeal to him, Pelletier also said Laval University was the perfect fit for him in terms of football and academics. “I was directly accepted in my school program, which was very important for me,” he said.

“I’m going to study law in January. It was the only program I was interested in, so it was an important element in my decision. Laval has an excellent law program with a good reputation, so I decided to stay in Québec,” he added.

Along with the academics, Pelletier is also impressed with the coaching staff. He said coaches like Coach Glen Constantin, have a lot of experience. He added, “When I met Coach Éthier and Coach Bertrand, I knew they would be the best coaches for my personal development. It is a high-level coaching team.”
