Laval adds four Québec commits to their Class of 2018.
For defensive back Hugo Larue from Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon, committing to the Laval Rouge et Or is a perfect blend between academics and football.
CFC60 tight end Mathieu Blanchette, CFC60 offensive lineman Philippe Boucher and wide receiver Jacob Doucet-Bruyère from Cégep Garneau will also be joining the Rouge et Or.
Hugo Larue
When Hugo Larue looked at university programs, there was one in particular that caught his eye. The catch? Laval was the only school in Québec that offered it. Interested in Forest Engineering, Larue said he chose Laval because it had the program.
“And because UL is an awesome university,” he added. “Of course, I’m really proud to be a player on one of the greatest football teams in Canada! The coaching staff sure is one of the greatest too. They seem really good.”
The 5’10, 170lbs cornerback suited up for Les Faucons du Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon (RSEQ Division 1) where he was the 2016 team MVP. He is from Trois-Rivières, Québec.
CFC60 Mathieu Blanchette
Mathieu Blanchette has lined up with Les Élans du Cégep Garneau (RSEQ Division 1) since 2014. In 2014, he was a member of Team Québec at the Football Canada Cup in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Standing at 5’10, he is from Québec City, Québec.
CFC60 Philippe Boucher
Les Élans teammate, Philippe Boucher, will also be adding his talents to Laval. At a hulking 6’4, 300lbs, the big man from Québec City will be hunkering down on the offensive line.
Jacob Doucet-Bruyère
Jacob Doucet-Bruyère is set to add his name to Laval’s receiving core. He will bring size to the position as he stands at 6’4, 225lbs.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
