JV Ontario Finals: Scarborough Thunder 2018 Champs

JV Cougars lose 13-7 to Scarborough Thunder

Great game played by the whole team. They left everything they had on the field.

Ethan Jordan caught a TD pass from Even Torres. Ethan Ciupka rushed 16 times for 126 yards. Nakoma Scott rushed 6 times for 76 yards Tyler Shumanski rushed 5 times for 43 yards. Ethan Jordan and Bennet Shaffer together had 7 catches for 95 yards Evan Torres was 10-18 for 178 yards.

Offense did well moving the ball.

Defensive Standouts

Darion Bacik has 12 tackles and 1 INT. Tanner Hoorelbeck had 11 tackles. Trevor Lawton had 7 tackles and 1 INT. Logan Stefina had 5 tackles Quinton Emerick had 6 tackles and 1 INT and 4 batted balls.

Blenheim 

Nolan Larouche played TE, and had an amazing game blocking on the edge to allow us some great runs. James Bond played center and was outstanding, playing against a player much bigger than him and he handled him all game. Logan Stefina had 5 tackles.

Strong Work JV Cougars on the best season ever for our JV program. We lost 13-7 in the Ontario Finals to Scarborough and I applaud the team for leaving it all on the field! This was truly the best JV team to date for our Cougar Football Club and our players should be proud.

Special thanks to the Sanderson family ( Darryl Sanderson), Miller Family ( Sean-Becky Miller), and the Bond family Tina Bond and Michael E Michael E Michael E Bond) for all their help this season with Pig Roast, Equipment, Pictures and video, the Game Day duties, recruiting other volunteers and practice tasks for the players!! Your help kept our players and coaches concentrate on the field, thank-you.

Thanks to my 12 JV coaches who worked extremely hard this season. Creative ideas and a commitment to win was awesome. Special thanks to Coordinators Mike Newman and Evan Ray Evan Ray Evan Ray Vaughan and R.D. Pierce for your leadership as Coordinators.

Thanks again to our classy parents and fans who cheered positively and were very supportive. It is truly amazing the smallest OFC city competes in Ontario Championships. To finish 2nd in Ontario says a lot about our community, athletes, and volunteer support. Thank-you.
