CFC 100 reacts to ranking & picking up two partial NCAA Division 1 offers.

CFC 100 Mason Bennett is one step closer to realizing his ultimate gridiron dream.

Last week, the 6’4, 225 pound defensive end from Winnipeg, Manitoba his second partial NCAA Division 1 offer from North Dakota State Bison.Β  This came after he received his first partial offer on June 23rd from the North Dakota Fighting Sioux.

β€œMy first offer was from NDSU,” recalled the CFC 100 defensive end of his offers.Β Β  β€œThey offered me during their camp in June and my UND offer was last Saturday during their camp.”

β€œI was extremely honoured when I received both offers, it was exciting to know my hard work was finally paying off and my dream to play Division 1 football was coming true.”

Bennett has played for the Vincent Massey Trojans of the Winnipeg High School Football League (WHSFL) and the Fort Garry Lions.

Among the honours the Trojans standout has achieved during his career include WHSFL Lineman of the Year, Trojans Lineman of the Year, and 2013 WHSFL ‘AAA’ All-Star selection.

This past May, Bennett was named to the CFC 100.Β  While he is thrilled of his inclusion in the rankings, the work doesn’t stop for him as he is striving to make a move on the CFC 100.

β€œWhen I found out I was ranked on the CFC 100, I was excited to know I was being recognized as a top athlete in the country and it was a huge privilege,” expressed Bennett.Β  β€œMy goal is to now move up in the rankings and I’m doing that by training with Jeff Fisher, one of the top trainers in the nation at Elite Performance.”

With two partial NCAA Division 1 offers in tow, Bennett will take his time before making any future decisions on his gridiron career.

β€œI’m not in a rush to make a decision or a commitment at this time but I’m assuming it will be sometime during or after my senior season,” commented the Manitoba defensive end.
