EDWARDS: Hoping to manage the unmanageable

We see it at every level of the game in fact we see it in almost every sport and every contest.  Officiating football games is a very difficult challenge.  Over time I have come to realize that despite the odds, game officials are more often right than they are wrong.  Hockey already has added an extra pair of eyes to their officiating crews and even at that there are a great many close calls allowing the humanity of the game to create animosity, frustration and sometimes anger.
