The second half would see the Highlanders score a second touchdown only to be answered back by a 13-yard catch by Jake Bennett for a Royals touchdown. The Royals would score their final touchdown when White caught 53-yard pass and ran it into the endzone.

We executed well and did what we needed to do, but it was far from perfect,” commented Bennett about their win. “Everybody is excited for the game this week, the playoff vibe is in the air. Our coach Richard White is a very intelligent coach, and is putting together a great game plan for this week’s game. We as a team just have to practice, perfect and execute it. Looking foreword to it!”

Belmont (46), Carson Graham (15)

In the last regular season game for Carson Graham Eagles and Belmont Bulldogs, Belmont would take the win, 46-15.

“Our defence played well but 5 turnovers killed us. It was tough to gather any momentum when we kept giving them opportunities,” commented head coach, Brian Brady of the Eagles.

Eagle’s Mahyar Hosseini would lead the defense 12 tackles and 1 interception. Nick Rich would have 9 catches for 92 yards and 1 touchdown, while quarterback Charles McMillan would complete 17/36 for 196 yards passing and 2 touchdowns with 4 interceptions.

Notre Dame (28), Vancouver College (7)

In a battle for the Archbishop’s Trophy, the Notre Dame Jugglers would walk away the victors with their 28-7 win over the Fighting Irish.

The Juggler’s defence managed to shut down the run game and was equally effective stopping the deep passing game that the Irish had used all season.

After numerous scoring attempts in the first quarter, the Jugglers would score early in the second quarter on a long drive capped by Brice Pumares with a 2-yard run. CFC100 Pauljeet Dhami would get a 10-yard catch late in the second quarter for a touchdown and with the successful 2-pt conversion from quarterback, Will Clarke to wide receiver Jerrell Cummings, the score was 14-0 at halftime.

“I played well had a decent game on both sides of the ball,” said Dhami. “We prepared all week and executed on all levels.” He goes on to say that they just need to prepare and play their best game every time they go out on the field.

Third quarter would see safety Dylan Rachel get an interception and return it for a touchdown, bringing the score to 21-0. In the fourth, Clarke would again connect with Cummings from 15-yards for a score, however, the Irish returned the following kickoff for 85-yards for their only touchdown score on the night.

“A great team victory today, the best of the season for our team. The defense was great and Clarke showed his potential as a rising star in AAA football,” said head coach of the Jugglers, Denis Kelly.Ā We can certainly take pride in this victory but must focus all of our energy this coming week on our first round opponent in the playoffs.”

Clarke was named the game’s MVP by virtue of his 8 carries for 82 yards and 140 yards passing on 15/21 attempts and 2 passing touchdowns. Steen Rasmussen would have 4 touchdowns on the night to go along with 3 conversions.

“I believe that you can always improve on things and you should always be trying to raise the bar higher. This past game, I think I played well but still know I can do better, still sub-par, still below the bar,” said Rasmussen when we asked how he thought he played.

G. W. Graham (0), Abbotsford (21)

In a very physical game, the Abbotsford Panthers managed the shutout, 21-0, against the GW Graham Grizzlies this past weekend.

The Grizzlies Darius Kelly had 19 carries for 67 yards on the night.

Langley (35), Robert Bateman (12)

In a 35-12 win for the Langley Saints over the Robert Bateman Timberwolves, Coach David Mills said, “We were a beat up squad. We were down 3 guys out of our front 7 and had a number of guys playing out of position.”

Langley would take advantage of this in the front seven and were able to run the ball effectively. however, quarterback Logan McDonald and receivers Ryan Sztuhar and Sam Davenport played well for the Timberwolves, but the team was just not able to finish enough drives according to Coach Mills.

Meanwhile Landon McArthur for the Saints would go 5/5 on PATs as well as a 60 yard touchdown reception.

“Our run game and d-line were the difference. The coaches had us ready and we didn’t make a lot of mistakes,” mentioned McArthur.

Clarence Fulton (34), Westsyde (0)

Clarence Fulton would finish their regular season with a shutout, 34-0, over Westsyde this past weekend.

In the first quarter, Caden Doyle would get a 48-yard fumble return for a touchdown and add to it with a 50-yard touchdown run. Doyle wasn’t finished as he would run it in again for a 30-yard score in the second quarter. Ike Olson also had a 50-yard touchdown to close the first half of the game.

In the third quarter, Teigen Derkach would have a 5-yard touchdown reception from Olson and that would end the scoring for the night.

“It was tough conditions for both teams. We had about 7 inches of snow on the field and the temp was -6. It made for a slippery ball and tough to get traction for the players,” explained head coach Mike Scheller for Fulton. “As a coaching staff we were happy with how we played. Our starters executed well on offense and we were able to break some long runs.”

Olson would complete 3/4 for 31 yards passing, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception as well as 59 yards rushing on 2 carries. Derkach would get 1 touchdown and Doyle would have 4 carries on 128 yards as well as a 22 yard reception and 4 touchdowns.

“I cannot say enough about the impact Doyle has had on our team. He is a great kid who works hard in practice and is good to his teammates,” said Coach Scheller. “He is a game breaker and a threat to score every time he touches the ball.”

Defensively, Liam Gombrich had 6 tackles, Evan Trottier had 5, and Nate Banga would get 3 tackles on the night.

Along with 4 fumble recoveries, Coach Scheller said this of his defense;

“Our defense is playing very well and is out strength right now. They are flowing hard to the ball and executing a smart game plan. Gombrich was a beast in the middle. Ryan Rumsey leads our defense and he is doing a good job captaining the defense. Evan Trottier had another very solid game at corner for us.”

Ballenas (14), Windsor (61)

The Windsor Dukes would remain undefeated with their 61-14 win over the Ballenas Whalers this past weekend.

Duke’s quarterback, Ryan Baker, completed 5/5 for 208 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. Julien Perri would have 4 touchdowns to go along with a pick-6 return for a touchdown.

“I think I played pretty well for the amount of time I had, as a team, I think everyone got lots of reps and we showed everyone how good we could be as a team and in order for us to be successful in playoffs, we can not take any opponents lightly and need to stay mentally focused.” said Perri. “If we can do those two things, I canā€™t see anyone being able to stop us.”

Quarterback Dimitri Volev would complete 4/5 for 86 yards and 1 touchdown, and teammate, Ryan Werbowski had 121 yards rushing on 10 carries and 2 touchdowns.

Hugh Boyd (7), Holy Cross (24)

In the last regular season game, Holy Cross would take the win in an unconventional way over Hugh Boyd as there was a scheduling error and the field was double booked. The game itself ended up being a one hour, running time, “semi-scrimmage” according to head coach for Boyd, Will Haddow.
“An opportunity to race kids in and out to make sure everyone got some time. We didn’t even keep stats,” he said.

Kelly Road (0), NVSS (35)

What a way to end the season! The NVSS Vikings shutout Kelly Road 35-0 this past weekend.

Quarterback, Corbin Brown, for the Vikings would go back to his original position of fullback and excelled there. He would rush for 3 touchdowns and caught a 2-pt conversion.

“Going back to fullback just felt right the quarterback position has a lot of pressure and I haven’t stood there in a long time,” commented Brown when we asked how felt back in his old position. “All of high school I was in that flex position play fullback and tight end. Going back made me feel home.”

“As for the game I believe the team played well. It was a good team win and a good last game for all of our grade 12’s,” he said. “Offensively, I believe I played very well having over 200 yards rushing on 14 carries with 3 touchdowns. It was a good game to end my high school career on that’s for sure,”

Running back Coleson Jensen would have 1 rushing touchdown and quarterback Kostas Bach connected with Will Pippy for a touchdown reception.

“Defensively, the Vikings defence played an outstanding game. Getting the shutout and forcing many turnovers,”commented head coach, Sheldon Brown of the Vikings.

Will Pippy had 2 INTs at his defensive back position and Darren Barg also had an 1 interception. Brown made his presence felt on the defensive line with tackles for lossā€™ and a sack. DL Dylan Boon would also have 1 QB sack on the night.
