High School Game Preview (MB): Tough test for Dakota as they meet the Trojans

The #18 Vincent Massey Trojans are hosting the Dakota Lancers this Friday at 5:00 pm. Vincent Massey is coming off of a 29-23 loss to the St. Paul’s Crusaders, while the Dakota Lancers are still undefeated after winning their game against the Oak Park Raiders.

During the first two weeks and two wins of the season, Dakota’s Ray Jarvis has liked how his team has handled adversity. “The Potter division is very competitive and every team challenges us to become better,” said Jarvis. In every game this season the Lancers have had moments where teams have taken advantage of their mistakes. Each game, Dakota has done a better job responding to those moments and eliminating their errors.

Against Oak Park, the Lancers offensive line helped throughout the game and allowed the offense to move the ball effectively, and provided time for their quarterback to make his reads down field. On defense, Dakota had great play from their line and linebackers to control the Raiders’ run game, and the Lancers defensive backs limited the Oak Park passing game. Jarvis added, “Overall a solid team effort.”

This week Dakota is matching up against a very good football team that is well coached, and they also have a number of game changers at skilled positions. For the Dakota Lancers to have success this Friday against the Vincent Massey Trojans they’ll need to play them with a sense of urgency, play within themselves and work hard.

The Vincent Massey Trojans are 1-1 after their loss to the St. Paul’s Crusaders and are looking to break Dakota’s two game win streak.

We at CFC think that the Dakota Lancers will make it tough for Vincent Massey but in the end Massey will be the stronger team and will win.
