High school players of the week (BC): #CFC100 Kankalongo, Ward named

Players of the week 

AAA

#CFC100 RB Jeremie Kankolongo (Terry Fox)- Kankolongo was unstoppable rushing for over 350 yards and five touchdowns in the Ravens 57-20 win over Mt. Boucherie. In his last two games, the senior running back has rushed for over 500+ yards and has seven TD’s.

AA

QB Mac Ward (Argyle)- Ward only had two incompletions all game and threw for a whopping 338 yards through the air and three TD’s in a 30-14 win over Langley. Two of his three strikes were 66 and 82 yards respectively.

 

Other Notable Performers

AAA

RB Derek Best (Lord Tweedsmuir)- Averaged over 23 yards per carry with 140 yards on six carries and had two TD’s in a 54-20 win over Mission. On defence, he also had one interception.

RB Joel Klassen (Lord Tweedsmuir)- Recorded 112 yards on nine touches to go along with three majors in a win over Mission. Klassen also picked up an interception on defence.

LB Cole Irwin (Lord Tweedsmuir)- Led the Tweedsmuir defence with 11 tackles and a sack in a victory over Mission.

QB Taylor Knoll (Mt. Boucherie)- Went 19-32 for 197 yards through the air and three TD’s in a loss to Terry Fox. He also rushed for over 100 yards on the ground on 16 attempts.

WR Steve Johnson (Mt. Boucherie)- Raked in 160 yards of receiving on four catches and had two touchdowns in a loss.

DB Chavis Spencer (WJ Mouat)- Led the Hawks secondary with two picks and hauled in a 31-yard TD pass in a 20-0 shutout win over Kelowna.

RB Dylan Manocha (WJ Mouat)- Carried 24 times for 155 yards and a touchdown in a win over Kelowna.

#CFC100 DB Keon Fuoco (Centennial)- Registered 10 tackles on defence and picked up his eighth interception of the season in a 14-9 victory over STMC.

QB Gideone Kremler (Mt. Douglas)- Combined to pass and rush for 360+ yards and two touchdowns in a 30-13 win over Belmont.

WR Josh Lucas (Mt. Douglas)- Finished the night with 161 yards receiving and one TD. On defence, he tallied two interceptions.

RB Samwel Uko (Abbotsford)- Uko rushed for scores of 70 and 27 yards on his first two offensive touches. Later on, he went on to add another from 60 yards before returning a punt 65 yards for a score just before halftime in a 55-0 win over West Vancouver.

RB Alfred Dela Cruz (Vancouver College)- Carried 13 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-7 victory over Carson Graham.

AA

DB Spencer Breslin (GW Graham)- Finished with a pair of interceptions and also booted a pair of field goals in a 32-0 win over Robert Bateman.

RB Tyson Philpot (Seaquam)- Grabbed touchdown passes of 45 and 26 yards and also rushed for a 68- yard TD in a 35-21 win over Windsor.

WR Robbie Conroy (Hugh Boyd)- Caught a 33-yard TD pass and registered an interception on defence in a 27-0 win over Frank Hurt.

RB Dayton Coles (Ballenas)- Recorded 164 yards on 21 carries and also had a TD in a 27-13 win over Nanaimo District. E
