Hawks stay local with recent commit

Hawks welcome a local commit to their Class of 2018.

Drew Ferguson, an offensive lineman from Bluevale Collegiate Institute, will be keeping his talents local after signing with the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks.

Ferguson is a member of the Bluevale CI Knights (Waterloo Country Secondary School Athletics Association). The Division 1 team went 4-4 last season, having bowed out of the playoffs in the quarter finals. In a preview of the team, Ferguson was cited as a key returnee to the team’s offensive line.

“We are very excited to add a top local player in Drew,” said Michael Faulds, the Golden Hawks’ head coach. “He possesses great strength for a young man. He will be an excellent future asset to our program.”

Hailing from Waterloo, Ontario, Ferguson will be staying home to attend university. The 6’3, 295lbs recruit has also suited up for the Cambridge Lions (OPFL).

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
