Hawks Bain & Bassi receive invitation to Team BC mini-camp

Of the Hawks’ six members of the bronze-medal winning Team BC at the 2010 Football Canada Cup, only grade 11 player Deion Bain (DB) remains age-eligible for the 2011 team. Congratulations on being one of only three players to receive this exclusive invitation to the upcoming mini-camp!

From Football BC:
“Three members of the bronze-medal winning British Columbia provincial team from the 2010 Football Canada Cup have been extended invitations to attend this year’s Team BC mini-camp taking place on Victoria Day long weekend from May 21 – 23, 2011. The mini-camp site will be announced at a later time.
The returning players are: RB Terrell Davis (Mt. Douglas Rams), DB Deion Bain (WJ Mouat Hawks), and OL Mason Woods (formerly with Langley Minor Football, most recently with the Terry Fox Ravens).
As special invitees, the three aforementioned players will not be required to attend a Team BC tryout session. All other players who wish to be considered for this year’s provincial team must attend an upcoming tryout. The tryouts dates are posted on Football BC’s website. Upcoming sessions are scheduled at Rick Hansen Secondary School in Abbotsford (February 5), Simon Fraser University in Burnaby (February 12), Mt. Douglas Secondary School in Victoria (February 19), and at the Northern Sports Centre in Prince George (February 26).
Players must be born in 1994 or 1995 to be eligible for this year’s provincial team.
The 2011 Football Canada Cup will be held in Lethbridge, Alberta from July 9 to 16, 2011.”

As well, graduating Hawk WR Desmond Bassi (and 2010 Team BC member) has received automatic invitation to the 2011 Senior Bowl that will be taking place during Spring Break week (March 22-27) by virtue of his all-star selection in the 2010 season.
