Hamilton recruit looks ahead to being part of Queen’s tradition (VIDEO)

Hamilton defensive end joins OUA team’s 2016 class.

Andy Ngobila will commence his CIS career in Kingston.

The 6’4, 250 pound defensive end from Hamilton, Ontario has signed with Queen’s Gaels. Ā Ngobila will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

For his part, Ngobila was entralled with the presitge and reputation of the campus as well as the team. His decision was solidified after he took in his official visit.

“I committed to Queen’s because of the tradition, education and football program,” commented Ngobila. Ā “I liked the fact of being part of a tradition a school that’s been around for 175 years.”

“The education is amazing and the football program is great I came to this school because I knew they would help me develop my skills and help me develop as a person the bond on the team was amazing on my visit.”

This past fall, the defensive end completed a stint with St. Thomas More Knights of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic Athletic Association (HCWAA) where his versatility on the field equated to success as he recorded 11 sacks, three forced fumbles and two blocks. Ā Ngobila helped the Knights win the Golden Horseshoe Bowl victory at the OFSAA Bowl Festival Series in November 2015.
