Great five years

Moose Jaw receiver recently signs for CWUAA team’s 2014 class.

“I’m so excited to play for the Rams; it’s going to a great five years hopefully!”

Those are the comments of Jacob Laboccetta.  Recently, the 6’1, 195 pound receiver from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan signed with the University of Regina Rams for the 2014 CWUAA season.

Ultimately, there were several factors that swayed Laboccetta towards the Rams.

“I choose them for plenty of reasons,” explained Laboccetta.   “I wanted to stay close to home, they offered me my tuition paid for and I know a lot if the players on the team for past teams I’ve played on.”

“I especially like the small roster they have because it gives me a better chance of playing in my early years.”

Laboccetta joins the Rams after completing his high school career with Central Collegiate Cyclones of the Moose Jaw High School Football League (MJHSFL).  This past season, the offensive standout amassed over 500 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns (in two games during the season, tallied four touchdowns).

“It was a lot of fun and I’m going to miss the program a lot,” added Laboccetta.
