CFC TOP 100 & Oakville receiver signs with OUA team.
CFC TOP 100 CLASS 2014 receiver Darryl Jean will be commencing his CIS career in Ontario.
Recently, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks announced Jean’s addition to the team. The CFC TOP 100 standout will join the Golden Hawks for the 2014 OUA season.
“We are excited about the addition of Darryl to our receiving core,” commented Golden Hawks Head Coach Michael Faulds. “You don’t come across 6’4” wide receivers as athletic as Darryl very often, so when you have a chance sign one it is special.”
The 6’4, 185 pound offensive standout from Oakville, Ontario joins the Golden Hawks after completing his high school career with Loyola Hawks of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA). In addition to the Hawks, Jean has suited up for the Halton Cowboys of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
Initially, the Golden Hawks thought they had lost out on the Jean sweepstakes. Back in early March, the CFC TOP 100 receiver signed with the St.FX X-Men. However, circumstances changed and the Golden Hawks got their chance to land him.
“This is a great example of why you always have to show respect and be supportive when a recruit decides on another university,” adds Faulds. “As tough as that may be, you never know when they might change their mind and call you up.”
