Golden Bears land third #CFC100 ranked recruit (VIDEO)

British Columbia linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2016 class

#CFC100 Zac Callaghan is leaving the West Coast for the Prairies.

Recently, the 5’11 195 pound linebacker from Peachland, British Columbia signed with the University of Alberta Golden Bears. Callaghan will join the team for the 2016 CWUAA season.

Overall, the Golden Bears provided the best opportunity for the running back to achieve both his academic and gridirion pursuits.

“They have a great academic support system, Ā they are a top five university for academics and they have the second best nursing program in Canada,” expressed Callaghan of his commitment. Ā “The coaches and players were very welcoming felt like a family and my visit was great very organized.”

The defensive standout has previously played for the Mount Boucherie Bears of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).Ā  During his career, he was received multiple honours including Defensive MVP (2014), Overall MVP (2013) and Offensive MVP (2014).Ā  This fall marks the fourth season that he is a captain.

With his commitment, Callaghan is the third #CFC100 ranked recruit to commit to the Golden Bears. Ā The others are running back/linebacker Justice Momoka and 2015 #CFC100 ranked linebacker Troy Hansen.
