Golden Bears land Lloydminster recruit

Lloydminster wide receiver joins CWUAA team’s 2014 class.

For Zach Desiatnyk, it didn’t take him long to make a decision on his future CIS home.

Recently, the 6’0, 170 pound wide receiver from Lloydminster signed with the University of Alberta Golden Bears.  Desiatnyk will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

“I committed to University of Alberta because of how great of a coach Chris Morris is and how the program is going to turn into a great program in the next few years,” explained Desiatnyk.  “The football facilities are top notch and the university is great.”

“I love how the program is very focused on the education aspect of what is university football.  As soon as I met Chris and looked into University of Alberta, I knew I wanted to play for them.”

The wide receiver is currently playing his senior season with the Holy Rosary Raiders of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA).

“The [Golden Bears] football program is already great, but only even better things are to come,” added Desiatnyk.
