Game of the week PREVIEW (AB): CFC50 Harry Ainlay Titans look to continue dominance in Metro Edmonton League

Harry Ainlay Titans vs. Jasper Place Rebels

Friday, Sept. 8 @ 5:00 p.m., Foote Field (Edmonton)

CFC50 Harry Ainlay Titans will begin their regular season against the Jasper Place Rebels in hopes of continuing their dominance in the Metro Edmonton League.

A pre-season win against CFC50 Raymond Comets, 28-15 and a 28th spot on the CFC50 rankings reassures the Titan team that they are ready to acquire the league title.

With top prospectsĀ CFC100sĀ Jonathan Rosery and Lwal Uguak remaining on the team, the Titans are confident they can lean on these players to put up big numbers against the Rebels and maintain their high energy level throughout the season.

Head Coach Tyler Greenslade looks to his young and accomplished players for overall leadership in their last season.Ā

Rosery and Uguak are not the only players to look out for on the Titan team. According to Tim Enger of Football Alberta, the offensive line is stacked with freshmen provincial all-stars. None of them have been highlighted yet, however this season will be important for coaching staff and recruiters to determine which players will rise to the occasion, and which players will settle into the pack.Ā

The Jasper Place Rebels are also equipped with a decent amount of talent from Grade 10 players. Their current roster features some of last yearā€™s Metro Edmonton Junior Champions.

Coming into the 2017 season with a 4-4 record, the Rebels plan to turn the tables on some of the higher placed teams such as #CFC50 Bev Facey and their first competitor, the Harry Ainlay Titans.Ā

Enger promises a great face-off between these two dynamic teams to start off the highly anticipated season.

ā€œNothing like a Top-10 face off right out of the gates.ā€

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
