FS Lortie joining Sherbrooke to improve skills

Sherbrooke welcomes another Québec commit to their Class of 2017.

When Dominic Lortie, a free safety from Cégep St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, met with the Sherbrooke Vert & Or, he knew there was something special about the team.

“The coaching really connects with (you) and I felt like I was in a big family,” he said. “The coaches have a great mentality and they seem to really want us to be better athletes.”

Along with the allure of the coaching staff, Lortie committed to Sherbrooke because of the academics. He will be pursuing a degree in Administration.

Standing at 5’10, 180lbs, he has played with Les Géants du Cégep St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (RSEQ Division 1). In 2015, he won a Bol d’Or with the team. In high school, he played with l’École Mgr-Euclide-Théberge (RSEQ). He is originally from Richelieu, Québec, which is a little southeast of Montréal.

When he reaches the U Sports level, Lortie has one goal on his mind: “I’m coming to the next level to perform and really be competitive.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
