Caedan Carriere first hit the field four and a half years ago.

He loves football because he enjoys learning and playing the game.

“I belong on the field,” said Caedan, “it’s the place I excel as an athlete both physically and mentally.”

Throughout his career he has played with the youth North Bay Bulldogs, the bantam North Bay Bulldogs and with the West Ferris Trojans with Nipissing District Athletics.

During this time, he was awarded a Most Versatile Player Award and was captain of the bantam Bulldogs.

This past season, the Trojan got six touchdowns and over 500 rushing yards.

On the field Caedan plays several positions, but says that when he is playing fullback he loves getting extra yards and making nice blocks.

When he plays as a defensive end, the Trojan loves getting sacks and to play every play better than the last one.

Moreover, his goals for the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge are to show his skills and intensity, as well as to make the team and learn new skills from different coaches.

During the offseason Caedan power lifts, works out at the gym and bikes.

In terms of role models, the Trojan has two.

“Ray Lewis is one of my role models because he was the hardest hitter ever and his motivational speeches get me in the zone,” explained Caedan. “Mike Alstott is also my football role model as he was the best fullback to ever play the game.”

On a typical “game day,” Caedan’s routine starts off with a shower right after he wakes up. He then eats a great breakfast then listens to heavy metal music and gets his mind in the zone.

“I get my pads on right away, face paint on and then sit in a quiet place and focus,” added the Trojan. “I focus to get my mind set on what I need to accomplish both physically and mentally against my opponents for my team!”
