Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): “fantastic” is how REC/QB Livingstone describes football experience

For wide receiver/quarterback, Mack Livingstone has had a “fantastic” football experience in the six years he has been playing.

“Football has been a pretty big part of my life for quite sometime now,” he says. “Being on a team with all your friends and working hard to achieve better and better things is just amazing.”

As a member of the Nanaimo District Islanders, Livingstone has won theΒ Hard Rock award twice, been an MVP once, won Most Sportsmanlike once, and was a part of the junior varsity provincial championship team, NDSS, in 2016.

He says that he looks up to Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys because he works hard every play and appreciates his overall athleticism. Livingstone also says, “His emotion on the field is also another reason he’s my role model”.

It’s this emotion and dedication that motivates this young athlete to train hard in the off-season. Working out at the gym and playing basketball to improve his endurance is how he plans to spend his time outside of football. In addition, the CFCFPC will allow him to learn as much as possible from the coaches and become a better and smarter football player overall.

Finally, it’s being a part of a team and working together that Mack loves.

I love being on a team and working together to achieve a goal, football is perfect for that. There’s so many moving parts in an offence or a defence and they all have to work together seamlessly in order to succeed. Not one person can carry the whole team it’s a joint effort and that’s what I love.”
