Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): ATH Adams loves “running like his life depends on it”

I love leading the team and running like my life depends on it,” says athlete Oak Adams. Playing multiple positions; quarterback, runningback, and middle linebacker, Adams loves football for many reasons.

There are so many reasons why I love to play foot ball it is so hard core and so much more competitive than any other sport out there,” he says. “There is no better feeling then playing under the lights on a Friday night with my team. I’m always playing at 200% and eat sleep and dream football come the fall.”

Standing at 6’0 and 160-pounds, Adams plays for the College Heights Cougars in the BC High School Football League. He says his coaches are the people that he looks up to and gets their advice and opinions on how to play the game and how to improve.

Playing since grade 9, Adams has loved his football experience so far. He hopes that the CFCFPC will allow him to further his football career by being offered the opportunity to play at the next level.

This Offensive Player of the Year and Snow Bowl MVP, had 11 rushing touchdowns, and 7 passing touchdowns this past season. He hopes to improve that number with the off-season conditioning and activities that he plans to do. “I love to play many sports in the offseason. I like off-season workouts, snowboarding, basketball, hiking, wakeboarding and lacrosse,” says Adams.

He goes on to say, “The coaches have me on off-season workouts almost year round and I can’t wait till next season.”

With next season fast approaching, when the lights go on, the stadium is full, the band is geared up, Adams will be at the centre ready to lead his team, hopefully, to a championship.
