Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): Lineman Peloso looking for the successful play

After nine years of playing football, lineman, Crouxificio Peloso (Cross), says his football experience has been “awesome”.

“Playing football was one of the only sports that made me feel like I fit in. I’ve always been a “big” kid and not all sports were for me. Playing football gave me confidence and taught me how to move my “big” body and gave me confidence mentally outside of football,” he says.

Having played for multiple teams throughout the years, he currently plays for Saint Thomas More and the Coquitlam Chargers. Cross has won Best Lineman three years in a row, MVP, and a sportsmanship award.

But the real reward is that he has made great friends and still plays with some of them since he got started. He says, “I love the game and have had fun since I started. There is nothing like being a part of a successful play so my team mates can move forward with the game.” 

Cross says that he doesn’t have a football role model to look up to, but encourages himself to strive to be the best he can. He watches football when he gets a chance and this helps him to stay motivated and learn new plays. He also plays soccer and lacrosse in the off-season. Recently, he joined the STM wrestling team to add to his training regime.

With all this extra activity, it’s no wonder that Cross has focused goals for the CFCFPC.

“My goals for the CFCFPC are to be part of a team that plays Football!  I can learn more from other experienced players as well as become a better player myself and teach others.  I would like to be part of a team that loves the game as much as I do plus working together as a team to accomplish something big like the success of the plays!  (My favourite part).” 

With the internal drive that this young lineman has, we are sure that he will be successful in accomplishing all that he has set out to do.
