Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): Lineman Giffen is a player to watch

Some people don’t need to have a role model to know that they love what they do. Lineman, Nick Giffen, doesn’t necessarily have a football role model that he looks up to, but has learned a lot from a whole bunch of people throughout his four year career.

The 6’5, 240lbs offensive tackle, also plays on the D-line for the Holy Cross Crusaders BC high school football league. And while he says that his football journey has been shorter then most, it still has been great. “I have to work hard to develop the skills I now have. I have gotten a lot of help from different coaches and been able to see different places along the way.” he says.

He goes on to say that while getting on the CFC100 list is a goal, he would like to recognized in the province as a player to watch. He believes that this would translate in demonstrating how hard he’s worked and that it will open doors and create future opportunities.

During the off-season, you will catch Giffen at the gym and on the field getting faster, stronger, and improving his footwork. He also will be attending camps to work on his skills against others in the province and get helpful coaching tips from the coaches.

Throughout this process, Giffen says, “Football has become a passion of mine and even a dream. Working hard with a team every day with a team building a bond to reach a final goal.”
