Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): Lane, “Being the Quarterback has taught me to be a leader on and off the field”

Playing a position that demands responsibility and competence is something that quarterback, Michael Lane doesn’t shy away from.

Playing for seven years now, Lane says that being quarterback has taught him to be a leader on and off the field. As a starter, while still in grade 9 for the Howe Sound Sounders Varsity team, Michael started all nine varsity games, playing both at quarterback and defensive back.Ā The Sounders finished 5-4 in regular season and while no individual league stats were kept, Michael earned his varsity letter.

I love to throw, run and catch the football, I also like to hit people when I play as a DB.” he adds.Ā

Lane mentions that he would like to improve as a player and be a better person for the CFCFPC and he will be working hard to accomplish this goal.

While working on his athletic and football ability, Lane will be also be in the gym to strengthen his upper and lower body in the off-season. He also plays basketball, volleyball, and runs Track and Field to make for a well rounded conditioning and preparation program.
