Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): Hawk DE/DT has been a part of football since the day he was born

Nik Lamont began his football career 12 years ago in Grade 5, and has been playing ever since.

β€œI grew up around it, learning from great older players and playing with a lot of older players as well,” said Nik, β€œits been a great way to meet friends.”

β€œI a lot of my best friends are from playing football,” added the defensive lineman.

During his career, Nik has played in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) with the Halton Cowboys and currently, with the Mississauga Warriors.

During the fall, he is also a part of his high school team, the St. Ignatius of Loyola Hawks in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA).

This past season, Nik accumulated eight tackle assists, eight solo tackles and a sack assist.

Moreover, Nik is also competing in this year’s Fox 40 Prospect Challenge, and his goals are to be able to compete at a high level and make an impact in the game itself.

During the offseason, the Hawk does both field and gym work.

β€œI love to play football because it’s been a part of my life ever since I was born,” explained Nik. β€œI love the team atmosphere.”
