Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): Lineman Borsch is a man among boys

Tanner Borsch is a man among boys.

Standing at 6’1, 200lbs; his size dictated that he played on both the defensive and offensive line for the North Toronto Collegiate Institute Norsemen. And, never leaving the field is something he really enjoys.

“Because of my skills, size, and football experience, I played simultaneously on both the offensive and defensive line for my high school football team. It’s fun to never get off the field!” says Borsch.

Borsch loves playing football, especially playing on the defensive side of the ball, and the socializing that comes with the game. “I love playing football as a defensive end I enjoy chasing people down and tackling them. I also really like the people I have met through football. I have played with a lot of great teammates and coaches,” says Borsch.

At the CFCFPC, Borsch wants to put a memorable performance and soak in as much knowledge as he can. “My goals for the CFCFPC are to play in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge and get noticed. I also want to learn from the best and improve my skills and experience,” says Borsch.

In the off-season, Borsch stays active through different activities. “In the off-season to stay fit I play competitive hockey as a goaltender, I lift weights in the gym, and I watch my nutrition to ensure I eat healthy food,” says Borsch.

Finally, Borsch’s football idol is his high school football coach, Mr. Hood who also taught him a class. “My football idol is Mr. Hood who is a teacher and football coach at my high school NTCI. Mr. Hood played university football before becoming a Physical Education teacher and football coach. He was my teacher last year, and I look forward to playing football for him on the senior team in the fall,” says Borsch.
