Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): Knight battling for CFC100

Youqi Zheng started his football career in Grade 7 in Quebec, but stopped for two years when he moved to Ontario.

“I regret those two years wasted not playing, so I want to get as many play time as possible for the upcoming years,” said Youqi.

In the past he has played with the Titans de Collège Saint-Alexandre, and is currently with Kanata Knights in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

The Knight is participating in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge, and his main goal is to make the team because it would be good for his personal skill development and would make him a better player overall.

“It would also give me a chance to get coached by the FPC, which, I believe would be an amazing experience,” explained Youqi. “And if I was given the chance to play for this team, I would be extremely gracious.”

As a 2018 graduate, the Knight is also hoping to make the CFC100 list.

During the offseason, he is doing the D2D Elite Performance Academy training program.

Moreover, on the field, Youqi’s role model is Malcom Jenkins because he is a respectful player and is known for his amazing interceptions and tackles.

“M. Jenkins is someone I look up too,” added the cornerback/receiver.

The Knight loves to play football because it teaches him discipline through the coaches and positive peer pressure, as well as good cooperation and leadership skills that he can sue later on for any purpose.
