Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): Centurion Lemke hoping to become a better player overall

Rowan Lemke started his football career four years ago in the Belleville Minor Football League with the McConnell Centurions.

Currently, he plays with his high school team, the Centre Hastings Centurions.

“I have been coached by some great leaders who have shown me that being a team player is first and foremost the key to being a great player,” said Rowan. “Meeting some good guys and making friendships has been another benefit to the sport.”

“I have learned good skills that I have tried to carry forward as a player,” added the Centurion.

During this year’s Fox 40 Prospect Challenge, Rowan would like to be a starter on the team and become a better player overall.

During the offseason, he plays hockey, and exercises with cardio and weights.

On the field, Rowan’s idol is either Kam Chancellor or Richard Sherman because they show they have what it takes to be a great team player, as well as the type of person Rowan strives to be.

The Centurion loves football because of the team aspect and being able to contribute to plays.

“Also the idea of a group of people working together to achieve the same goal,” commented Rowan.
