Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): Aubertin is walking in his father’s shoes

Jacob Aubertin is the starting quarterback of the Franco-Cité High School Patriotes.

He is marching in his father’s shoes as his father used to play the Patriotes. The young man idolizes his father and NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

“I have two football idols who are Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburg Steelers and my father who played for the Franco-Cité Patriotes High school football. They give me the desire to become a better player in the way they played the game and the attitude they have on and off the field,” says Jacob.

Aubertin plays football because it gave an opportunity to learn different skills and socialize.

“I have loved every minute of my football experience so far. Football has given me the chance to meet new people, learn new skills, and make a bunch of friends. I have learned so much from my coaches,” says Aubertin, who adds, “I love to play football because it’s a sport where I stay active and be part of a team environment. My position [QB] gives me the chance to demonstrate my leadership skills and makes me strive under pressure.”

Aubertin wants to impress scouts and coaches at CFCFPC from here until his graduating class in 2020 when he wants to make the CFC100. “My goal is to be noticed by the CFCFPC in order to possibly pursue a future in football,” says Aubertin who adds, “My graduating class is 2020. One of my goals is definitely to be in the CFC top 100.”

In order to improve Aubertin does not take days off so in the “off-season I work out, I practice indoors with my teammates to improve my arm strength and accuracy,” says Aubertin.
