Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): Arteaga is a natural

Aaron Arteaga may be small, but like his idol he is a fearless runner once he crosses the white lines.

“My football idol is Chris Johnson because he is not tall like most other running backs, but he is fearless, fast, and quick. Like me, I am not that tall, but I am very quick and fast,” says Aaron Arteaga.

Arteaga began playing football a few years ago, and already he was a natural. “Me and two other grade nine students were the only grade nine students to make our high school team,” says Arteaga.

“I’ve had a great experience so far, I started playing football three years ago as a safety, and eventually shifted over to offense. I began my high school career as a starting wide out. I have started for every team, I have ever played for,” says Arteaga.

At the CFCFPC, Arteaga wants to absorb as much knowledge as he possibly can to improve as a player. “My goals for the CFCFPC this year are to get better at my position, speed, footwork, knowledge of the game, and to get recognized,” says Arteaga.

In order to get better as a player, Arteaga hones both his physical and mental skills. “I workout about three to five times per week, go to a local field to practice my 40-yard dash, and play with my friends. I am currently in this camp, and the Super Elite Provincial overnight camp,” says Arteaga.
