Former CFL player and CJFL Coach is being inducted into the BC Lions Wall of Fame

Tyrone Crews a former B.C. Lions linebacker and former head coach of the BCFC Vancouver Trojans is being honoured prior to the Lions game against the Montreal Alouettes on July 16. with his induction into the B.C. Lions Wall of Fame.

Tyrone played 84 games with the Lions from 1981 to 1987. During his time, he helped the Lions to their 1985 Grey Cup victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 1986, Tyrone was the recipient of the CFLPA Tom Pate Memorial Award. The teams nominate a team member for this award. The recipient should embody the qualities of outstanding sportsmanship, contribution to his team, and contribution to his community.

Tyrone became head coach of the Vancouver Trojans in 1995 and coached the Trojans for six years compiling a 14 win 42 loss and 2 tie record. In 1997, Tyrone was named BCFC Coach of the Year as well as winner of the Gord Currie CJFL Coach of the Year Award at the Canadian Bowl Banquet of Champions that was held in Kelowna B.C.
