FOOTBALL CANADA AND CFOA SELECT NEW CHAIRPERSON AND RULES INTERPRETER


Football Canada with the partnership of the Canadian Football Officials Association (CFOA) has selected a new Chairperson and rules interpreter for the Football Canada Rules Committee. These positions are two year terms, the nominated individuals do have the opportunity to be re-elected in two years.

Al Mitchell from the Saskatoon Football Officials Association will be overseeing the position as chairman of the committee this position had been held by Peter Baxter Athletic Director, Wilfrid Laurier University. Walter Berry from the Quebec Provincial Football Officials Association APFQ will taking over the seat as rule interpreter from long time rules interpreter Ken Green. Football Canada thanks Ken and Peter for their outstanding work and dedication to the committee over the years.

Walter and Al will begin their work with the committee this month when the committee will be reviewing the 2011 submissions. The committee is made up of the Chair, the rule interpreter as well as members from the CIS, CJFL, High Schools, CGEP, CFOA and the tackle working committee.
