Football BC & BCCFA to field 2 teams at 2013 National Flag Football Championships

BURNABY, B.C. – Football BC and the BC Community Football Association (BCCFA) is pleased to announce they have jointly secured two berths in the upcoming 2013 Football Canada National Flag Football Championships tournament to take place in Regina, Saskatchewan from July 25 to 28, 2013.

Football BC and the BCCFA will be fielding an under-16 male team as well as an under-18 female team at the annual national tournament.

“We are very excited that British Columbia will once again be represented at the national flag level,” said Doug Pauls, Director of Spring Flag Football for the BCCFA. “We are looking forward to showcase BC’s best against the best the rest of the country has to offer.”

The under-16 team that will represent British Columbia will be the team that is crowned the provincial champion in that age group in the BCCFA Provincial Flag Football championship tournament that will be taking place at the Capital News Centre in Kelowna on June 8 to 9, 2013.

The eight players that will comprise BC’s female under-18 team will be chosen through a tryout that will take place on Saturday, June 8 at the Capital News Centre in Kelowna at 5:30 pm.

The tryout is open to all females born in 1996 or 1997 and who reside in British Columbia. Evaluations at the tryout may include 40-yard dash, I-test and football skills.
