He was also played in the Ontario Prospect Challenge for Team West and now plays for St James Lions of Guelph District 10 of the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association (CWOSSA). Brody recently received the best defensive award.

“My highlight of the last football school season I became starting middle linebacker in grade ten and made it to D10 Championships,” recalls Brody who has received the Gryphons Best Defensive Award.

Brody has been working hard in training  – he’s going to the gym five days a week and has done three workout clinics with the goal of improving as a player.

“I am fully committed to football and I and striving to make me the best I can be,” says Brody. “I’m training really hard and focusing on what’s important.”

“I’m going to work as hard as I can and do whatever I can to get better.”

He has also been able to do be successful on the field because of encouragement and great coaching.

“People that influence me are my uncle and my coaches,” says Brady, who also cites Gryphons coaches Pat Nield and Matt Nesbitt as gridiron influences.

Once he does finish high school in 2017, Brody has some career and academic goals he would like to achieve.

“My plans are to try and attend university and my career goals are to become a personal trainer of sorts and a firefighter,” says Brody.

While he has not chosen a school as of yet, he has been thinking about where he would like to go for football and academics.

“I have not committed to any universities I am pretty open minded,” Brody says “I have been talked to by Laurier.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
